We are the sons and daughters of generations of Puerto Rican farmers. Thanks to our parents sacrifices and wishes, many of us enjoyed the fruits of their hard labor; more than ever, it’s time to give back. Our heritage runs deep in everything we do. We understand the agriculture business—and poses a genuine understanding of the land and the people who work it; we call them family.
As early as the 1700’s, Puerto Rico’s specialty coffee, was identified as the “Coffee of Kings and Popes” due to it’s high quality and distinct flavors. Sadly, the island’s coffee industry has been hollowed out by centuries of extracting systems. Today, independent coffee farmers face high production costs, climate shocks, limited market access, and obscure middlemen who capture most of the value. Industry analysts estimate that coffee farmers on average capture only between 4 to 8 percent of retail coffee pricing, yet take on 100% of the risk. It is our intention to disrupt the current model and return equitable profits back to our farmers.
Connected by family.
ONE ORIGIN. NEW POSSIBILITIES.
Puerto Rico Coffee Company, Florida was created to support and help strengthen independent coffee producing farms in Puerto Rico.
We offer access to new and profitable markets, new systems, methods, and processes of modern infrastructure, efficient distribution, agri-tech equipment, education & training, development of diversified revenue streams, access to capital investments, sound quality protocols, marketing & branding to develop meaningful client relations.
We believe we can offer the most viable path to economic sustainability and growth for Puerto Rican coffee farmers; and the combination of specialty and gourmet potential, heritage narrative, and preferential U.S. market access creates a credible & unmatched opportunity for premium pricing that can offset high costs.
FROM THE FIRST AROMA TO THE LAST SIP.
With continued resilience, applied innovation and targeted support, the Puerto Rico coffee sector can evolve from a struggling remnant of a once-great industry into a smaller but higher-value specialty origin, restoring cultural pride and delivering much stronger rural livelihoods.
Full restoration of 19th-century volume is neither feasible nor necessary; excellence in the premium segment is the realistic route to renewed importance, inclusion and prosperity.
